Hello and (almost) welcome to the long weekend, Ottawa! It’s a summer weekend, which means it’s time to have elaborate, delicious breakfasts for three whole days straight (we don’t make the rules).
If you haven’t eaten brunch at the SconeWitch very often, you may find our options overwhelming. And so today, we’d like to introduce you to our brunch menu, and the many customizations you can make to have a breakfast that’s truly yours.
That way, you can focus on getting your brunch on, all weekend long.
The Bacon Cheese Melt
Good for all circumstances (but especially if you’ve perhaps indulged a little heavily during the long weekend festivities), the bacon cheese melt is just one pile of delicious. The best part of this product is that it’s not limited to brunch hours—you can get it all day long.
The bacon cheese melt is an open-face savoury scone (cheddar, herb and onion, feta, or wheat-free jalapeno and green onion) buried in bacon and extra old cheddar from St-Albert. We then melt it in our oven for a few minutes so it gets all gooey and warm and comforting.
This is a truly unique breakfast experience.
First, you choose from our savoury scones. Then, we cut a hole in your scone and stuff it with scrambled egg, ham, and/or extra old cheddar from St-Albert.
It’s so good.
This is the king of all breakfast options at the SconeWitch. You get to make a lot of choices, meaning that the variety of combinations you can have is practically endless.
First, choose your scone. This can be any of our sweet or savouries. Your options are:
- Orange cranberry
- Vanilla cream
- Lemon poppyseed
- Currant ginger
- Wheat-free raspberry sour cream
- Herb and onion
- Wheat-free jalapeno green onion
- And our seasonal, which changes every month
Next, you choose which condiment you want. We offer incredible jams from Moss Berry Farm, which are pretty much the best jam ever (we’re biased, but we stand by this statement). Your options are:
- Wild blueberry raspberry
- Rhubarb ginger
You can also choose butter, house-made lemon curd, or Devon cream, or a combination of Devon cream and any jam.
Next, you choose a topping for your scrambled eggs. These are all made in-house at our kitchen on Cyrville road and shipped to us fresh. You choose from:
- Mustard-glazed ham
- Mushroom ragout
- Smoked salmon
- Mediterranean vegetables with goat cheese
We’re not going to do the math, but with this many options, you could probably eat a different brunch every day for a million years (math is not our strength—we bake scones).
So join us this weekend, and indulge in a unique (and highly Instagrammable) Ottawa breakfast.
